How to Play & Controls
Choose your game mode from the top tabs: Vs Computer, Pass & Play (2-player), or Puzzles.
Select your preferred side (White, Black, or Random) and time control (Unlimited, Blitz 3+2, Rapid 10+5, or 15+10).
Move pieces by clicking/tapping and selecting a destination, or by dragging and dropping directly onto squares.
Review legal moves highlighted with clean indicator dots; checks and threats are signaled with clear visual cues and Web Audio sound effects.
When a pawn reaches the eighth rank, select your promotion piece (Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight) or enable Auto-Queen in Settings.
Strategy & Tactical Tips
Control the four central squares (e4, d4, e5, d5) early with pawns and knights to command maximum board territory.
Develop knights before bishops, and avoid moving the same piece multiple times during the opening phase.

Yes. Click the gear icon to open Settings. You can choose from 8 board themes (Classic Walnut, Tournament Green, Midnight Blue, Minimal White, Black & Gold, Modern Slate, Neon, and High Contrast) and 3 piece styles (Regal, Geometric, Tokens).
Does Rookhaven support keyboard controls and full-screen mode?
