Turn CSV files into neat PDF tables. The header row repeats on every page and page numbers are added.
Folio is a free online Excel to PDF and CSV to PDF converter with two ways to work. It handles XLSX, XLS, ODS and CSV files. Turn a spreadsheet or CSV file into a clean, print-ready PDF that looks the way it does in Excel, or fit an Excel sheet onto a single page. Your fonts, colours, borders, charts and page setup stay intact. No sign-up, no watermark, and your files never leave your device.
Choose CSV to PDF for tidy tables, or Fit Excel to one page to shrink a sheet onto one page.
Drop an XLSX, XLS, ODS or CSV file on the page, or choose it from your device. Convert XLSX to PDF in one step.
Preview every page, set paper size, orientation and scaling, then download the PDF.
Both options use the same converter. Switch between them above the preview.
Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe separated files are detected automatically. Columns fit their contents, the header row repeats on every page and page numbers are added.
Shrink each sheet onto one page, or fit every column across the width and let the rows run onto more pages. It works like Excel's Fit to page setting.
Fonts, colours, fills, all border styles, merged cells, wrapped and rotated text, indents and alignment.
Currency, accounting, percentages, dates and times, exactly as Excel formats them, including red negatives.
Column, bar, line, pie and scatter charts, logos, images and text boxes.
Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Cyrillic and emoji all render correctly.
Switch between CSV to PDF and Fit Excel to one page at any time, without losing your files.
Choose A4, US Letter, Legal, A3, A5 or Tabloid, in portrait or landscape.
See exactly where each page breaks before you download anything.
Convert a whole workbook or only the sheets you need, including hidden ones.
Combine several files into one PDF, or get a separate PDF for each in a .zip.
Repeat header rows on every page and add “Page 1 of 5” footers.
Real, selectable text and clickable links, not a blurry screenshot of your sheet.
Leading zeros and long ID numbers are kept exactly as written, and separators are detected for you.
No uploads, no account and no server. Safe for invoices, payroll and client data.
Most online converters upload your spreadsheet to someone else's server. Folio does the whole conversion on your own computer or phone, so confidential numbers stay with you.
Search 45 answers. Pick a category: CSV files, fitting to one page, general, privacy, pages and layout, formatting and troubleshooting.
Yes, completely. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no page limit and no paid version. The converter runs in your own browser, so there are no server costs to pass on to you.
No. Open the page, drop in a spreadsheet and download the PDF. It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, iPhone and iPad.
Excel workbooks (.xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx), older Excel files (.xls), Excel binary workbooks (.xlsb), OpenDocument spreadsheets (.ods) and CSV or TSV text files.
Yes. Add as many workbooks as you like. You can combine them into a single PDF or download a .zip with one PDF for each file.
No. The converter reads the workbook itself, so you can turn a spreadsheet into a PDF on a phone, a Chromebook or any computer without Office.
Drop the .csv file on this page or choose it with Choose files. Check the preview, then press Download PDF. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
Yes. The separator is detected from the first line, so comma, semicolon, tab and pipe separated files all work without any settings.
Yes. Values are printed exactly as they appear in the file, so ZIP codes like 00742, product codes and long account numbers stay intact. Numbers are still right-aligned so columns line up.
This page starts with Repeat header rows set to First row, which is what most people want for long tables. Switch it Off in Page setup if you prefer.
Yes. Set Gridlines to Off in Page setup. On Auto, gridlines are added because CSV files have no borders of their own.
The converter reads UTF-8 first and falls back to the Windows encoding Excel uses. If text still looks odd, open the file in a text editor, save it as UTF-8 and try again.
Tens of thousands of rows convert in a few seconds on a typical computer. Very large files are best done on a computer rather than a phone.
Drop the file on this page. Scaling is already set to Fit each sheet on one page, so every sheet comes out as a single page. Check the preview, then press Download PDF.
In Page setup, set Scaling to Fit all columns on one page. The columns fit the page width and the rows continue onto as many pages as they need.
Switch Orientation to Landscape, choose a larger paper size such as A3, set Margins to Narrow, or fit only the columns rather than the whole sheet. Setting a print area in Excel also helps.
Yes. It works like Page Layout > Scale to Fit in Excel, with width and height set to 1 page. If your file already has its own fit settings, choose Smart under Scaling to use them.
Yes. Each sheet you tick in the Files list is fitted onto its own page, all in one PDF.
Yes, as in Excel. When a sheet is fitted onto one page, manual page breaks are ignored.
Under Scaling, choose Fit all columns on one page. Every column then fits across the page width, and rows continue on as many pages as they need. The default Smart setting already does this unless your file has its own scaling.
Choose Fit each sheet on one page under Scaling. Large sheets get small, so check the preview to make sure the text is still readable.
Yes. Print areas, print titles, paper size, orientation, margins, fit-to-page, scaling, manual page breaks, page order and headers and footers are all read from the file. Change any of them in Page setup if you want something different.
Set Repeat header rows to First row. If you set print titles in Excel (Page Layout > Print Titles), choose From file and those rows repeat instead.
With Orientation on Auto, wide sheets are turned sideways when that lets them print noticeably larger. Choose Portrait to keep them upright.
Yes. Pick A4, US Letter, US Legal, A3, A5 or Tabloid under Paper size. Use the file’s setting keeps the size saved in the workbook, or your local default if there is none.
Yes. Untick the sheets you don’t need in the Files list. Each sheet shows how many pages it will take.
Set a print area in Excel (Page Layout > Print Area) and leave Use the print area turned on. Only that range is converted.
Choose Page numbers under Header and footer to add “Page 1 of 5” to the bottom of every page. From file uses the header and footer set in Excel, with page number, sheet name, file name and date fields filled in.
Yes. Fonts, colours, fills, borders, merged cells, wrapped and rotated text, alignment, indents, column widths and row heights are all reproduced, along with number formats such as currency, percentages, dates and accounting.
Yes. Pictures and logos are placed where they are in the sheet. Column, bar, line, area, pie, doughnut and scatter charts are redrawn from the workbook’s data. Pictures and charts are kept whole on one page whenever they fit.
Yes: colour scales, data bars, highlight rules (greater than, between, text contains and similar), top and bottom rules, above average, duplicates and most formula-based rules. Icon sets are not drawn.
The table style is applied: the coloured header row, banded rows and total row.
Yes. The PDF shows the values Excel saved with the file. Some apps other than Excel save formulas without results; if that happens you’ll see a note, and opening and saving the file in Excel fixes it.
Yes. Text is real text, not a picture, so you can search, select and copy it. Hyperlinks in cells stay clickable.
Yes. Text in any language, including right-to-left scripts and emoji, is shown correctly. Characters outside Western European alphabets are drawn as sharp, high-resolution images, so they print perfectly but can’t be selected as text.
Text is set in standard PDF fonts that every reader has, and spaced to match your workbook’s fonts, so columns and line breaks land where they do in Excel. The letter shapes can differ slightly from Calibri or Aptos.
On Auto, gridlines are added only to sheets that have no borders of their own, so plain data stays easy to read. Turn them On or Off to choose for yourself.
No. Your files are opened and converted inside your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere, which makes it safe for payroll, invoices and other confidential workbooks.
No. The files live only in this browser tab. Close or reload the tab and they are gone.
Only the converter itself: web fonts from Google Fonts and the open-source libraries that read spreadsheets and write PDFs, from the cdnjs content network. Your data never leaves your device.
The number is too wide for its column, just as in Excel. Widen the column in Excel, or use a smaller font, and convert again.
Password-protected workbooks can’t be read: remove the password in Excel (File > Info > Protect Workbook) and try again. If the file is damaged, open it in Excel or LibreOffice and save it again as .xlsx.
Hidden sheets are left out by default, and empty sheets have nothing to print. Tick a hidden sheet in the Files list to include it.
Hidden rows and columns are left out, as they are when you print from Excel. Turn on Show hidden rows and columns to include them.
Workbooks with tens of thousands of rows convert fine on a typical computer; a 30,000-row sheet takes a few seconds. Phones have less memory, so very large files are best converted on a computer.
Safari may open the PDF in a new tab instead. Tap the share button there and choose Save to Files.
No questions match that search. Try a shorter word, like “page” or “semicolon”.
