You know you are a Pakistani girl

You know you are a Pakistani girl, when you have more than once experienced aunties giving you totkas for everything there is under the sun, especially skincare! From exfoliation to moisturizing, there is a totka for everything. The best part is, some of these totkas REALLY do work wonders for your skin. Here’s our top favourite totkas that we heard all the time growing and have no become our holy grail.

Drinking 8 glasses of water everyday:

“Pani pio beta” is literally the advice you get for everything. However, your water intake plays a very important role in how fresh your skin appears to be. From naturally flushing out all the toxins from your system, adequate water intake will also keep digestion issues at bay. So have lots of water to not only feel healthier but also to look fresh!

Malai:

We have all at least once in our lives had a regular doodh wala come into our street while we wait outside with an empty pot. This milk is boiled giving a thick layer of cream at the top. One can be sure of the quality and purity of the milk by the amount of cream they make after boiling it. This malai does wonders for your skin. From moisturising to healing skin rashes, sun burns etc. It is literally the best natural moisturising mask your skin needs.

Besan scrub:

Besan? What? You thought that was JUST for Pakoray? Well, you have been missing out. Besan is a natural exfoliant and probably the cheapest scrub you could find. Mix it with some lemon juice and yogurt and apply it on your face until it dries and then scrub it off. You can thank the Entertainment Couch later as you glow!

Honey:

Honey is a natural medicine. From treating your seasonal flus to applying to all kinds of skin problems, honey is rich in antioxidants that have healing properties. But your honey must be pure and organic. Applying honey directly to your skin and washing it off after ten minutes can leave your skin feeling extremely soft. It can feel a bit sticky though. Oh and make sure you dont go out with honey on your face or it’ll be a feast for the flies!
